Phlebotomy & EKG Training Program

This combination course prepares students to enter an allied health care setting, securing a versatile job as a Phlebotomist and EKG technician. The goal is to introduce the latest information in EKG techniques and blood collection samples. The Phlebotomy section is 60 hours classroom lecture and a 120 hour clinical rotation. The EKG training is 60 hours classroom lecture/labs. Upon completion of the course, students will be allowed to sit for both national exams, and achieve National Certification. Modules in Professional Rescuer CPR, Vital Signs, and Infection Control & Standard Precautions are also included to increase the student's marketability.

Tuition:  $1,800.00.

Cost per student includes:

  • 3 Textbooks (1for Phlebotomy, 1 for EKG, and 1 for Professional Rescuer CPR)
  • Malpractice Insurance $30.00
  • Phlebotomy and EKG National Exams
  • CORI check       

No refunds will be given unless withdrawal is six (6) business days before start of class.

Requirements prior to admission:

  • Proof of Medical Information (outlined below)
    • Current Physical Exam (within the last 6 months)
    • MMR
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria Booster
    • Negative TB or chest X-ray within 1 year
    • Hepatitis B
  • Pioneer Valley Chapter Literacy Test
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current Picture ID

Required purchases prior to class:

Navy blue scrubs and white sneakers (required to be worn in all classroom and clinical settings).

Classes:

Attendance at all class meetings is mandatory.

****You must pre-register and take a literacy test.

****Literacy test given Monday -  Friday 8am to 3pm by appointment.
